Kara Pecknold

Kara is a regenerative designer, strategic storyteller, and leadership guide who has spent two decades working at the intersection of people, planet, and possibility by partnering with Fortune 500 companies, emerging startups and impact organisations across various industries.
Her most recent role of VP of Regenerative Design and Head of Design for frog Germany, found Kara working beyond the brief. Where others see sustainability as a compliance exercise, she sees it as the design opportunity of our time. She translates ecosystem thinking, biomimicry, and circular economy principles into products, services, and business models that are genuinely fit for the future.

Her Master’s thesis in Rwanda became a case study in IDEO's Human-Centred Design Toolkit, and her thinking has reached global audiences through TEDxVancouver, the Steelcase Work Better podcast, and jury leadership at the Core77 Design Awards.

She is now the founder of The Field Trip Co., where she takes leaders out of the conference room and into extraordinary natural landscapes. These small, intentional expeditions are designed to strip away the performance of professional life and reconnect people with the deeper intelligence needed to lead well.

Kara is a Guest Lecturer for Design Leadership for Strategic Transformation.
